History of Cluzzle
Cluzzle was inspired by a game called Barbarossa that won the Spiel Des Jahres (Germany's prestigious game of the year award) in 1988. While I was impressed with Klaus Teuber's design, I thought the game could be improved by removing several extraneous aspects that detracted from the fun. I worked on the game for 4 years and tested it with over 400 people before I arrived at the current version of the game!
I want to thank several people for helping make Cluzzle a reality. To begin with, I want to thank Klaus Teuber for being a continual source of inspiration. I have great respect for your games. I also want to thank all of my MBA classmates who helped with this endeavor. Some of you spent more than 30 hours volunteering to create financial models and marketing slogans. I especially want to thank those who helped collate the first print run (see pictures below). It means a lot to me to have had such great support from people who are as busy as me. I also want to thank the 400 people who have helped test the game and given valuable feedback. - Dominic Crapuchettes -
